Lucia Baumgartner
Lucia Baumgartner was born in Thun and grew up in various Swiss cantons, Spanish regions and on the African continent. While studying to become a teacher, she discovered modern dance through Annemarie Parekh, and later attended the London Contemporary Dance School, graduating in 1998 with a Master of Art in Choreography. Since the end of 1999 Lucía has been artistic director of the inFlux dance company and her competency draws from different dance, theatre, musical and architectural influences.
Constantly being on the move since childhood became second-nature for Lucía. She now gives workshops, takes part in festivals and creates productions in Switzerland, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, Kosovo, South Africa, Mozambique and soon Venezuela. Her creations are a mixture of Mediterranean temperament and Swiss sobriety.
Lucia dreams in English, thinks in German and also speaks French and Spanish.
